Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Cornwall. You will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights to support our organisation’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain, and review financial records and reports.
  • Handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and complete accurate tax returns.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Assist with audits and provide reports to management.
  • Advise on cost-saving initiatives and financial planning strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Proven experience in an accounting role, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations in the UK.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other office software.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts or working with external auditors is a plus.
