Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is representing an engineering consultancy based in the Durham area, inviting an experienced Accountant to join on a company-based basis. The role focuses on statutory accounts, VAT, and monthly management information, with involvement in audits, tax reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.

You will maintain financial controls, drive process improvements, support group finance projects and provide technical accounting guidance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• ACCA qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and MI.
• Office-based role, Monday–Friday, commuting to Bowburn or Durham area.

In this office based position you will be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and monthly management information, while supporting audits, tax reporting and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also help maintain financial controls, improve processes and systems, support wider finance projects and provide technical accounting guidance across the Group.
