Job summary

SwissBorg, a crypto wealth management platform operating through regulated entities, seeks an Accountant to own Accounts Payable and contribute across the full accounting function. You will handle month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany, VAT and tax, and audit preparation in a multi-entity group.

The role requires around 5 years of accounting experience, ideally from a Big 4 firm, with proficiency in GL, AP, and external audits.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years of accounting experience, ideally starting at a Big 4 firm in audit or accounting outsourcing.
• Experience across multiple entities and intercompany accounting.
• Hands-on experience with GL, month-end close, reconciliations, accruals and the full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Own the Accounts Payable process: supplier invoice review and coding (ApprovalMax/Xero).
• Prepare and manage general ledger entries, accruals and prepayments.
• Monthly, quarterly and annual closes for all group entities with external audit
• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Monthly intercompany reconciliations, recharges and settlements across group entities
• Support VAT and other tax compliance across jurisdictions with external advisors
• Prepare audit files and support audits of group entities
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes
• Manage technical and routine accounting tasks with high accuracy in a remote, international team

Job description

• Are you an Accountant with a strong technical foundation, ideally shaped in a Big 4 audit or accounting outsourcing team, looking for broad, hands-on responsibility in an international group?
• SwissBorg is a crypto wealth management platform operating through a group of regulated entities across Switzerland, France, Estonia and other jurisdictions. Our accounting team is small, and every member makes a real difference. In this role, you will own Accounts Payable and contribute across the full scope of the accounting function: month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany, VAT and tax, and audit preparation
• We would love to hear from you if you are a versatile all-rounder who enjoys the variety that comes with a multi-entity group. The ideal candidate can step into any part of the accounting cycle, from processing supplier invoices to preparing audit files
• Own the Accounts Payable process: supplier invoice review and coding (ApprovalMax/Xero), payment preparation, supplier statement reconciliations and vendor master data
• Prepare and manage general ledger entries, accruals and prepayments
• Monthly, quarterly and annual closes for all group entities, in collaboration with external accounting firms
• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure balances are correct and supported
• Monthly intercompany reconciliations, recharges and settlements across group entities
• Supporting VAT and other tax compliance across jurisdictions (VAT returns, reverse charge, withholding taxes), working with our external tax advisors
• Prepare audit files and support the annual and interim audits of the group entities
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes, contributing your own ideas
• Manage both technical and routine accounting tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency

Working knowledge of VAT and corporate tax compliance; international or cross-border VAT exposure is a plusExperience with multi-entity groups, intercompany accounting and, ideally, consolidationAround 5 years of accounting experience, ideally starting at a Big 4 firm in audit or accounting outsourcingA strong accounting background: confident with general ledger accounting, closing, reconciliations, accruals and the full accounting cycleExperience preparing for and working with external auditorsA degree in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldHands-on experience with accounting software and strong Excel skills; familiarity with Xero and ApprovalMax is a plusFluent English (French is a bonus)A proactive, detail-oriented and independent working style, comfortable in a remote, international teamHands-on Accounts Payable experience; experience coaching or reviewing the work of junior team members is a plusMust have an interest in crypto and/or crypto accounting is a plus
