Contract Overview: We are seeking an
immediately available Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) to support our finance team on a
3–month fixed–term basis. This role requires someone with proven experience in the
education and
commercial cleaning industries, with a solid understanding of
Facilities Management (FM). You will be instrumental in stabilizing core finance functions, supporting strategic reporting, and preparing the business for operational continuity and/or audits.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting- Produce accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Manage short–term cash flow, forecasting, and budget reconciliation.
- Prepare management accounts and support month–end/year–end closing.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Sector–Specific Duties- Liaise with education sector stakeholders to align with DfE and ESFA financial standards.
- Review contract profitability and billing accuracy within the cleaning service arm.
- Ensure proper financial tracking of Facilities Management operations.
Facilities Management Finance Support- Partner with FM and operations teams to monitor budgets and cost control.
- Review supplier contracts, utilities, and maintenance expenses.
- Assist with CapEx project financial planning and control.
Project & Strategic Support- Support ongoing financial projects (audit prep, funding applications, systems transition).
- Provide analysis and insight to guide business decisions during the contract period.
- Deliver handover documentation and continuity planning at contract end.
Requirements: Essential- Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- 5+ years of post–qualification experience.
- Background in both education and commercial cleaning/FM services.
- Strong month–end, budgeting, and reporting experience.
- Available for immediate or short–notice start.
- Proficient in financial systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, SAP) and Excel.
Desirable- Experience in Multi–Academy Trusts or public sector education.
- Knowledge of UK procurement and contract compliance for FM services.
