ACCOUNTANT - 40,000

Portfolio Credit Control are currently partnered with a well-established Accountancy Practice who are seeking a motivated Accountant to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career while supporting a diverse range of clients, primarily owner-managed businesses, including limited companies. You will join an established team, ranging in experience that provides a friendly and supportive working environment. You must be keen to have good interpersonal skills and are comfortable communicating at all levels and working within a team. You will be exposed to a varied portfolio of clients and support them with statutory accounts, VAT returns and tax issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Statements, prepare statutory financial statements under FRS105 and FRS102 using software. Tax Calc being able to prepare group accounts.
• Tax Computations, draft corporation tax computations in Tax Cal.
• Management Accounts, create periodic management accounts using Xero, Sage or similar software.
• Client Interaction, build client rapport, understanding their specific needs and ensure clear, professional communication.
• Additional Services, identify areas for other services that may benefit clients.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• AAT, ACCA, or qualified by experience, with a background in accountancy practice.
• Accounts production experience is key.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software like Iris, Xero, QuickBooks, Excel, Word.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
• Competent in preparing financial statements and corporation tax returns.
• Ability to develop strong client and internal relationships and offer value-added services.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
