Role Overview

Service Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Plymouth for an Accountant to join on a temporary basis. The role supports the current team by providing essential financial services and advice.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice to clients, senior finance colleagues, departmental management, and elected members.
• Support service planning, especially regarding financial systems development and working practices.
• Deliver statutory finance services, ensure continuous improvement in financial management, reporting, and internal controls.
• Contribute to the production of management and statutory accounts.

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant
• Experience in Local Authority Finance is highly desirable
• Experience advising senior members and stakeholders on financial matters
• Experience in producing management and statutory accounts
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
