Responsibilities

  • Work on audits of subsidiary companies as required.

Job description

We are recruiting for an Accountant to join a successful, independent accountancy practice that is looking to add to its dynamic team. Within this role you will be supporting the delivery of bookkeeping, payroll, personal tax and accounting and audit services to a diverse client portfolio.

The firm is open to candidates at different stages, and the role would potentially suit part qualified, qualified by experience or fully qualified applicants, hence the wide salary range advertised.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients
  • Process and manage client payrolls, including statutory returns
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, and financial statements
  • Support year-end accounts production and liaise with clients as required
  • Prepare self-assessment tax returns and assist with MTD for clients moving into this area
  • Opportunity to work on audits of subsidiary companies in UK offering additional work experience
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation
  • Provide ad hoc support to partners and senior accountants
Requirements
  • Previous experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Be qualified, part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/ACA) or exceptionally qualified by experience
  • Strong bookkeeping and payroll knowledge preferable
  • Audit experience preferred, particularly at qualified level
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent attention to detail and client service focus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, QuickBooks)
