Job description

Accountant

Your new company

Hays are delighted to partner exclusively with this City Centre organisation as they look to recruit a newly qualified CA / ACCA accountant to join the Glasgow team. The organisation is leading their field and looking to bring in someone with the hunger to drive their career forward within a commercial accounting role.

Your new role

In your new role, you will be responsible for the financial and management accounting needs for the organisation as well as some of its subsidiaries. You will oversee the transactional processing and prepare VAT returns for the group. The opportunity is offered on a hybrid basis where you will join a busy finance team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for the role, you will be a newly qualified or exam finalist coming from a reputable practice firm. You will be a confident self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently. The role requires sound technical accounting knowledge and stakeholder engagement, so client management experience would be beneficial.

What you'll get in return

In addition to a competitive annual salary, the organisation offers enhanced pension and life assurance contributions. There is private healthcare and income protection, as well as enhanced maternity/paternity pay. You will be eligible for a bonus after your first year with the business and have the opportunity to join a company that values and recognises the work of their staff, as seen in their retention and promotions in recent years.
