Job Vacancy – Accountant

Navis Agere Limited based in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent are an ambitious, fast growing Accountants and Tax Advisors and we are looking to fill our permanent, full-time vacancy for an Accountant.

Salary c£45,000-£50,000 per annum (depending on experience).

Full time or part-time (if part-time above salary pro rata) with option of flexible hours to suit.

Office based.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm.

The candidate to be fully ACCA qualified and have a working understanding of corporation and personal tax.

3 years+ experience in practice.

Full driving licence.

The post will report and work to the Director and will responsible for providing high quality accountancy and tax advice to the Practice’s clients’ through correspondence, telephone, email etc by producing management accounts and assisting with the tax return compliance process through to submission. Duties will also include assisting with the management and training of an Accounts Senior.

Duties to include;

  • Developing strong relationships with, and providing a primary point of contact for clients on a daily basis for accountancy and tax queries.
  • A sound knowledge of book keeping/double entry systems and journal entry.
  • Processing of quarterly VAT returns, management accounts, year-end accounts and account reconciliations.
  • Attending meeting with clients planning, researching and being a main point of contact with those clients going forward.
  • Dealing with Inland Revenue and Company House queries.
  • Visiting new and existing clients.
  • Writing necessary letters/documentation following in-house branding.
  • Assisting withthe management and training of our Accounts Senior.
  • Providing analysis and forecast financial reporting; such as advising of potential issues, trends and improvements.
  • Assisting with the tax return compliance process – collating, preparing, submitting and reviewing individual and company tax returns for final preparation and submission of accounts.
  • Reviewing and producing Navis' protocols and procedures to see what can improved or documented going forward.

Key skills and qualities we would also be looking for;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Working understanding of corporation and personal tax.
  • Knowledge of different accounting packages i.e. CCH, Xero, Quickbooks, Sage.
  • Strong Excel expertise and other MS products.
  • Able to work independently but also to work in a team.
  • Good organisational abilities including prioritising workloads to deal with multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • The ability to deliver high quality documents.

This role could also be suitable for a newly qualified ACCA Accountant, but a full ACCA qualification will be needed we are not taking on part-qualified or trainees at the moment.
