Job summary

Centre People Appointments is assisting a Japanese food manufacturer in North London to recruit an Accountant for the finance team. You will manage the full accounting cycle for one European entity, covering AR, AP, GL, VAT, and tax compliance, with a focus on accuracy and independent handling of multiple responsibilities.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience with month-end close, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the full accounting cycle.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience with month-end closing and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience using SAP or other accounting systems would be advantageous.
• Japanese, Mandarin or Korean language skills, or familiarity with those cultures, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting activities (AR, AP, GL, month-end close and cash flow) for a business operation.
• Prepare VAT returns and support corporation tax compliance by coordinating with external tax advisers for a business operation.
• Process and maintain accounts payable for Head Office.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with statutory audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

A Japanese food manufacturer is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team in North London.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for one of the company's European entities, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, and tax-related activities.

The ideal candidate should have full-cycle accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and be confident managing multiple accounting responsibilities independently.

• Working Style: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office after successful completion of probation)
