Castle Employment Group in Elland is seeking an Accountant to deliver full sets of year-end accounts for a varied SME client base, and to prepare corporation and personal tax returns. You will manage your workload, communicate directly with clients, and develop strong relationships within a supportive practice.

Requirements of the Accountant job include:

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
• Ideally AAT Level 4 qualified, although relevant experience will also be considered
• Experience preparing full sets of accounts independently
• Good knowledge of corporation and personal tax
• Strong general practice accountancy experience
• Experience working with a varied SME client base
• Confident communicating directly with clients
• Able to work independently and take ownership of your workload
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop within practice

The firm is deliberately not overly rigid on title or qualification and would consider candidates from a strong Accounts Senior/Semi Senior background through to more experienced accountants with client management or portfolio responsibility.

For the right individual, there is also scope to develop towards a Client Manager-level position over time.
