Job summary

Get Recruited is partnering with an established firm of Chartered Accountants in Bury to recruit an experienced Accountant for their growing team.

The role requires a minimum of four years' practice experience, with strong skills in year-end accounts, tax computations and client liaison. The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, pension schemes and trusts, and will travel to meet clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years' recent practical experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong experience preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Good knowledge of corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
• Confident liaising directly with clients and explaining financial information clearly.
• Commercially aware with understanding of fees and the practice business model.
• Strong IT skills across Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies.
• Produce accounts for sole traders, partnerships and other unincorporated businesses.
• Prepare accounts for pension schemes, trusts and other specialist entities.
• Complete corporation tax computations and returns.
• Prepare personal tax returns.
• Liaise with clients regarding accounts, taxation and queries.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately within deadlines.
• Support bookkeeping and VAT return preparation as required.
• Produce management accounts.
• Assist clients with tax planning and statutory matters.
• Maintain accurate working papers and client records.
• Travel occasionally to meet clients and contacts.

Due to an increase in client demand, the firm is looking for an experienced Accountant with at least four years' recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice to join their team.

THE ACCOUNTANT ROLE

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies
• Producing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and other unincorporated businesses
• Preparing accounts for pension schemes, trusts and other specialist entities
• Completing corporation tax computations and returns
• Preparing personal tax returns
• Liaising directly with clients regarding accounts, taxation and routine queries
• Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Supporting bookkeeping and VAT return preparation where required
• Producing management accounts
• Assisting clients with tax planning and company statutory matters
• Maintaining accurate working papers and client records
• Travelling occasionally to meet clients and other business contacts

THE PERSON
