Job description

Hays are working with a long-standing client to recruit an Accountant into the Bristol Finance Function.

Your new company
International, professional services business are looking for an accountant to replace someone in the team due to an international promotion.

Your new role

This role sits in their main EMEA hub here in Bristol, reporting into a Finance Manager. The role will contribute to month-end close processes and ensure they are run in an efficient and effective manner. Key aspects of the role will include:

  1. Preparation of journals for month-end, financial close to the agreed month-end timetable.
  2. Preparation of accounting processes such as intercompany, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Prepare reviews of the P&L to ensure accuracy of the numbers.
  4. Maintain the integrity of balance sheets and escalate any queries to the financial controls team.
  5. Support process improvement, maintaining a best-in-class finance function.
  6. Review and monitor the quality and speed of work produced by the offshore team.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant who has ideally worked in medium to large-sized businesses. You should have good MS Office and Excel systems skills, and it would be beneficial if you used Oracle.
