Job summary

Sheridan Maine is recruiting an experienced Accountant to join an established business in Andover on a long-term contract. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, month-end processes, and driving process improvements.

You will work with operational teams to maintain controls, support statutory reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis. Part-qualified or fully qualified with ERP and Excel experience is preferred; UK work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Part qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
• ERP systems experience and strong Excel skills preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Produce timely management information and financial statements; support budgeting and variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and provide financial insight to inform business decisions.

ACCOUNTANT ANDOVER GBP50,000–GBP60,000

Sheridan Maine are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Accountant to join an established business in Andover on a long term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant who enjoys working in a fast–paced environment and wants to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business performance, and driving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.

Key duties of the Accountant include:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with relevant accounting standards
• Manage month end and year end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and reporting
• Produce timely and accurate management information and financial statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Monitor cash flow and provide financial insight to support business decisions
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
• Assist with statutory reporting, tax compliance, and external audits
• Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and systems
• Work closely with operational teams to analyse costs and improve financial performance
• Support finance projects and process improvement initiatives as required

The successful Accountant will have the following skills and experience:

• Part qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
• Qualified by experience candidates will be considered
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Experience of ERP systems and strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment
• Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
