Job summary

New College Lanarkshire is seeking a qualified Accountant to join its Finance Department. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will prepare management and statutory financial information, support budget management, maintain financial controls and advise budget holders and senior managers.

You will contribute to improving financial systems and ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and NCL policies. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Salary: £48,759 - £51,360

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for preparing management and statutory financial information, supporting budget management processes, maintaining financial controls and providing professional financial advice to budget holders and senior managers. Coupled with this, you will contribute towards the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements and NCL policies & procedures.

The role calls for someone who has excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and build effective working relationships across NCL.
