Hutcheon Mearns has been engaged by a global, family-owned business to source a full-time, staff Accountant. The role is based in Bridge of Don with hybrid working, offering flexibility and a highly competitive salary. This position is ideal for candidates with management accounting experience and a strong work ethic.

The role involves preparing accurate monthly management accounts, analyzing profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow in line with deadlines, preparing statutory accounts, and managing VAT and corporation tax returns. Candidates should be experienced Accountants or Assistant Accountants seeking to progress.

The Opportunity

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts with analyses and explanatory commentary
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts fully
• Close and reconcile GP ledgers and sub-ledgers monthly
• Implement appropriate financial procedures and controls
• Manage working capital through stock reporting, debt chasing, and creditor payments
• Carry out cash flow forecasting
• Participate in team meetings for departmental efficiency
• Assist in preparing the company's annual budget
• Prepare year-end schedules for statutory accounts
• Handle tax, VAT, and GST information collation and submission
• Manage FX movements and overseas transactions accounting
• Provide payroll data to outsourced payroll services and ensure timely payments
• Review invoices on approval system as needed
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by management

Background and Experience

• Qualified Accountant, Part Qualified, or QBE
• Experience reporting to directors and managing cash flow
• Management accounting background
• Strong computer skills; Great Plains experience is a plus but not essential
