Job description

French accountancy firm with multiple offices is developing its activity in the UK and is looking for a French speaking Accountancy Practice Manager. The Accountancy Practice Manager will manage a small team of accountants and will develop the business in the UK. As a qualified Accountant or finalist or QBE, you will be in charge of the clients’ tax and statutory filing, and you will also advise existing clients and potential clients about the local accounting practice.

You will report to the Partner in France.

Role of the Accountancy Practice Manager:
  1. Advising & servicing clients on a daily basis
  2. Attending monthly and ad-hoc finance meetings with clients
  3. Managing in-house team and junior apprentices
  4. Preparing/reviewing quarterly management and annual statutory accounts (limited companies and charities)
  5. Preparing/reviewing management accounts
  6. Preparing/reviewing quarterly VAT returns
  7. Preparing/reviewing Self Assessment Tax Returns including CGT, IHT, and CIS
Profile:
  1. Fluent in French and English
  2. Qualified ACCA or ACA, or finalist of QBE, with at least 5 years’ experience in an accounting practice/firm
  3. Broad general practice experience with limited companies, sole traders, SATR’s, VAT, CIS
  4. Knowledge of French accounting standards is a plus
  5. Working knowledge of Payroll processes
  6. Proficiency in Sage L50 or equivalent for managing client accounts and bookkeeping
  7. Excellent communication skills in French and English, both face-to-face and written
  8. Patient and thorough in training and developing junior staff
  9. Business development skills to help grow the client base
Salary:

Between £60k and £70k per annum, negotiable, plus benefits
