Job summary

Howett Thorpe in Woking is seeking an Accountancy Practice Manager to join a small established team and work closely with Partners. You will oversee a small team, manage client relationships and handle a varied mix of accounts and personal tax work.

The successful candidate will typically hold ACA/ACCA or equivalent (or QBE) with experience in an accountancy practice, strong accounts and personal tax knowledge, and the ability to train and develop staff while driving practice improvements.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent preferred; QBE considered.
• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong accounts and personal tax knowledge.
• Good client management and communication skills.
• Hands-on approach with ownership and supervision experience.
• Interest in trust work advantageous.

The successful candidate will have:

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred, although QBE candidates will be considered
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong accounts and personal tax knowledge
• Experience reviewing work and maintaining quality standardsGood client management and communication skills
• A hands-on approach and the confidence to take ownership
• Experience supervising or supporting junior team members
• An interest in developing their trust knowledge would be advantageous
