Job summary

TPF Recruitment in Folkestone, UK, is helping a reputable accountancy practice recruit a Bookkeeper to join their team. You will handle bookkeeping for a mixed client base across Kent and the South East, prepare management accounts, VAT returns and other services, and build strong client relationships.

You will manage your own portfolio of clients, record transactions in Xero/QuickBooks/Sage, prepare monthly statements, monitor cash flow, and support the accounts team.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping for varied client types (sole traders, partnerships, SMEs).
• Experience with VAT returns and management accounts is preferable.
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in practice or bureaus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and meet their bookkeeping needs.
• Process payments, invoices, income and receipts; enter data.
• Prepare financial statements, VAT returns and cash flow reports.
• Verify accounts accuracy and liaise with the accounts team as needed.

A fantastic accountancy practice based in Folkestone is searching for a Bookkeeper to join their successful team, in a key role, bookkeeping, preparing management accounts, vat returns and other services to a mixed and varied client base across Kent and the South East. You will carve a key role here, adding value to clients and building relationships, within a growing team and firm.

This very successful firm of accountants, based in Folkestone, East Kent has developed a strong reputation for delivering quality services, along with building strong relationships with its varied client base. The firm offers a very supportive and team focused environment, reflected by a very low staff turnover and long serving staff.

Joining this firm of chartered accountants as a Bookkeeper based from their Folkestone offices, you will carve a key, hands on role, as you develop within this firm and environment. Acting for varied sole trader, partnership and limited company SME's and OMB's of varying size and industry sector, you will deliver bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, and other services to mixed clients.

• You will be responsible for your own portfolio of clients ensuring that all of their bookkeeping needs are met such as:
• Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases
• Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
• Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances
• Completing VAT returns
• Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the accounts team of errors
• Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
• Cloud accountingusing Xero, QuickBooks, Sage (Training can be provided)
  

Requirements

• You may be AAT studying, qualified, or qualified by experience.
• You will have anything from 3 - 5 years + experience within bookkeeping within a client facing capacity, either in practice, a bureau or self employed.
• Experience of software such as Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, Kashflow etc. would be advantageous.
