The Role of the Account Manager

  • Selling a leading portfolio of wound care and compression therapy solutions into NHS, both primary and secondary care.
  • Key component is Business Development
  • Focus on engaging with key decision makers at a senior level, such as buyers, procurement teams, CCGs.
  • Develop a business plan for the territory to gain formulary inclusion and ensure business growth.
  • Proactively seek out and develop relationships with clinical and non-clinical decision makers, including board level customers.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within community and hospital accounts.
  • Use an OMNI-channel approach, including digital platforms, social media, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Region covers Somerset, Bristol, Devon & Cornwall, with remote working from home, networking throughout complex NHS accounts.

  • Basic Salary: £42k - £53k per annum
  • Holidays: 5 weeks pro-rata, plus stats

The Ideal Person for the Account Manager

  • Experience in wound care or similar medical sales, selling into primary care preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and motivated to succeed.
  • Good IT skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Outlook, content sharing platforms, customer databases.
  • Interest and passion for a career in sales.
  • Some clinical knowledge/background, e.g., sports science, rehabilitation, physiotherapy qualification.
  • Tenacity, self-drive, and goal-oriented approach.
  • Agility & curiosity.
  • Influencing and persuasive skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: active listening, confident presentation, adaptable communication via OMNI-channel.
  • Commercial and strategic thinking, including presenting product proposals and cost savings.
  • Analytical data skills.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Reside within 45 minutes of South Bristol or Somerset.
  • Flexibility to stay away from home occasionally.
  • Valid driving license and work eligibility in the UK.
