Job description

As a global provider of medical technologies, Teleflex is driven by our purpose to improve the health and quality of people’s lives. Through our vision to become the most trusted partner in healthcare, we offer a diverse portfolio with solutions in the therapy areas of anesthesia, emergency medicine, interventional cardiology and radiology, surgical, vascular access, and urology.

We believe that the potential of great people, purpose-driven innovation, and world-class products can shape the future direction of healthcare. Teleflex is the home of Arrow, Barrigel, Deknatel, QuikClot, LMA, Pilling, Rüsch, UroLift and Weck – trusted brands united by a common sense of purpose.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Teleflex Surgical Account Manager to cover the South Region consisting of Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Berkshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Surrey, & West Sussex. Do you have a solid background in medical sales? Or a clinical background with a strong interest in laparoscopic surgery and looking to use your skills in a different way?

You will be responsible for the promotional activity on your territory. This includes the full sales process and any local marketing and customer engagement activity including clinical support & education. Your key customers will be theatre-based staff – including but not exclusively, surgeons, theatre nursing staff and procurement professionals.

You will be in a challenging and stimulating role, often working within the clinical environment, alongside the surgeon to advise on the appropriate use of the product during the surgical procedure and collecting feedback on the product portfolio. Other activities will include managing contracts, negotiating with procurement and attending marketing and internal training events both in the UK and occasionally overseas.

Education / Experience Requirements

This role requires a strong academic undertaking as part of the training. You will need to demonstrate that you have the capability to learn a high level of scientific and clinical content. For this, any and all qualifications that prove the ability to learn complex information, with analytical and critical thinking is required.

Whilst full training is given, this role suits an individual who thrives from autonomy, with an aptitude for technical & clinically challenging products. The successful candidate should be self-starting, eager to learn new skills and happy to work outside of their comfort zone.

They should be a strong team player, analytical, and have a good level of IT literacy. This role requires confidence working with clinicians at a level to position products in a variety of clinical scenarios. Understanding business in the current UK healthcare market is desirable, however, at minimum you must be able to demonstrate examples of previous experience working in a multilevel setting.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
  • This role would suit an individual who is currently selling into the surgical environment or similar. Alternatively, someone who has worked in the theatre environment within the NHS and is looking to break into surgical sales.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with a diverse group of people and be a team player.
  • Ability to multi-task and navigate competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and display initiative.
  • Continuous improvement and results orientation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through while maintaining focus on the big picture.
  • Adaptable to change.
