Position Purpose:

The Account Manager is responsible for acquiring new business and managing existing customer accounts.

This role involves managing, growing, and ensuring contract performance within an existing portfolio in the UK RWCS medical waste sector. The role includes leading renegotiations and handling contractual matters for clients such as laboratories, pharmacies, local authorities, hospitals, and care homes.

The Account Manager will meet revenue KPIs for retention and growth, ensuring profitability and overall objectives are achieved. Responsibilities include pipeline development, securing new clients, and upselling services to boost revenue and customer acquisition.

Key Job Activities:

  • Manage and develop existing customer relationships, including contract renegotiations and service escalations.
  • Maximize revenue and profit across the portfolio through upselling, cross-selling, and price adjustments.
  • Target and present Stericycle services to potential new clients, attend sales appointments, and secure new contracts.
  • Utilize SFDC and other IT systems to manage sales pipelines and communicate professionally.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and other teams to enhance service delivery.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including ethics, health and safety, and bidding processes.
  • Conduct market research and stay informed on customer and market activities.

Education:

Preferably an undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business Studies.

Experience (North America & LATAM):

Experience demonstrating sales skills such as listening, questioning, negotiating, and closing, along with understanding various sales channels and managing customer accounts.

Experience (EMEAA):

Proven ability in sales and account management, working with both private and public sector clients, and driving sales growth at a national level. Ability to work in a matrix organization and build relationships via phone and face-to-face. Familiarity with sales IT systems like Salesforce.com is essential. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure are required.
