Job description

Account Manager - Nalco Light NW UK, Manchester

As an industry leader in water technology, we are seeking talented individuals to help us maintain and grow our efforts in protecting the world’s vital resources.

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is looking for an Account Manager to join our sales team. You will be responsible for driving revenue and profitable growth of programs and services for both local and global major accounts. Using a consultative sales approach, you will build relationships with existing customers by executing system assurance programs that meet their key business needs. You will also convert strategic competitive accounts and introduce new technologies to current customers.

Location and Territory

This role is based in North West England, with a flexible location within the area. You will manage a territory covering approximately a 150-mile radius, focusing on industries such as Institutional, Food & Beverage, and Light Manufacturing. Some overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) initiatives at each site, focusing on organic and prospect growth.
  2. Ensure compliance within your assigned territory.
  3. Coordinate internal and third-party activities at customer sites.
  4. Support and coach within a small team.
  5. Develop and implement sales plans to grow existing accounts and win new business, aiming for about 30% of sales time on prospecting and organic growth.
  6. Work closely with customers to understand their needs and recommend improvements and innovations to sustain and grow sales.
  7. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant or facility executives.
  8. Perform system analysis, interpret data, and provide recommendations to optimize customer operations.
  9. Stabilize and grow strategic accounts, addressing any jeopardy business.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least five years of technical or field sales support experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • No immigration sponsorship available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry).
  • Experience in water treatment or specialty chemicals.
  • Knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater systems.
