KWS Vegetable Italy is looking for an exceptional Account Manager (m/f/d), focusing on Spinach and Swiss Chard. This role is designed to drive sales and market strategy, aligning with the company's objectives to ensure growth and profitability in the global vegetables sector. The candidate will join the Customer Team for baby spinach and chard in Europe. The ideal candidate will have strategic insight, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the horticulture sector, particularly vegetable seeds. This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Battipaglia region, Italy.

Your responsibilities:

  1. Account Management: Implement and contribute to the crop account management strategy, focusing on fresh baby spinach and chard in Italy.
  2. Market Development: Develop KWS vegetables' market position and share with key accounts, supporting commercial sales activities.
  3. Partnership Building: Build trusted partnerships with key accounts, regional dealers, growers, packers, and retailers.
  4. Market Monitoring: Monitor market developments and report on acreage, seed prices, competitive activity, and trends.
  5. Product Knowledge: Understand the product range and production cycles of fresh market spinach and Swiss chard, and support trial plans.
  6. Network Building: Establish a network within the supply chain for fresh market baby spinach and chard.
  7. Account Plans: Develop and implement account plans for key accounts, focusing on the 4 P’s (Product, Price, Place, Promotion).
  8. Product Launches: Execute new product launch plans and evaluate product performance.
  9. Sales Forecasting: Maintain reliable sales forecasts and manage outstanding accounts.
  10. Collaboration: Work with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Finance to support initiatives.
  11. Reporting: Report to the Italian Sales Manager and the European Customer Team Lead.

Your profile:

  • Minimum B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture
  • At least 5 years of experience in the vegetable seed industry
  • Residence within 1 hour of Battipaglia
  • Green fingers, understanding customer needs and business dynamics
  • Proven sales and/or production experience in agriculture, achieving results
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 70%)
  • Experience with Sales Force, ABS, and Power BI is a plus
