My client is a leading provider of marketing and communications in the UK. With over 30 years of experience in direct marketing, CRM, and transactional communication industries, they pride themselves on providing tailored solutions and cost-effective services to enhance customer communications, streamline processes, consolidate costs, and deliver a greater return on investment.

As part of their expansion, our client is recruiting an experienced account manager to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in direct mail or transactional mail, with knowledge of lithographic printing, finishing, digital, and laser printing. To succeed, you must be organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment to meet high standards and client needs. A proactive, helpful attitude and willingness to engage in all project stages are essential. This is a hands-on role, from producing business cards to managing complex direct mail campaigns. This is an office-based role.

Key Requirements:

  • Proactive, consultative client management, offering advice and solutions
  • Discuss requirements, provide quotations, create schedules, oversee delivery, and manage invoicing
  • Gather data and information for each project stage
  • Complete invoicing within 48 hours of job completion; document and invoice additional costs; escalate to Line Manager for disputed charges
  • Manage jobs effectively to ensure timely and within-budget completion
  • Keep clients informed of job progress daily
  • Monitor and track performance of the allocated client portfolio, including turnover and trends
  • Maintain awareness of job status, ensuring daily presence on the production floor to verify compliance with client requirements and sign-offs

The ideal person:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of Management Information Systems (e.g., Shuttleworth) and Microsoft Office
  • Methodical with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate client requirements into production specifications accurately
  • Practical knowledge of lithographic printing, finishing, digital and laser printing, data management, envelope production, mailing, and postal services
  • Ability to generate innovative solutions and add value to exceed client expectations
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player, willing to assist colleagues and contribute to team objectives
  • Flexible, able to work under pressure
