Job Title: Account Manager - Advanced Engineering & Composites

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Manager to join a leading UK engineering and manufacturing business, renowned for its work across sectors including automotive, motorsport, aerospace, defence, marine and heritage. The company specialises in advanced engineering solutions, composites and additive manufacturing, delivering high-quality bespoke and low-volume vehicle programmes.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical understanding, excellent client relationship skills and a passion for innovative engineering.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will be the main point of contact for a range of high-profile clients, ensuring their projects are delivered to the highest standard. You will work closely with internal teams to translate client needs into successful technical solutions, while identifying opportunities to grow accounts and build long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop client relationships across sectors including automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, heritage and defence.
  • Coordinate projects from quotation through to delivery, ensuring they meet agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the company's products, services and manufacturing capabilities to provide informed advice and solutions to clients.
  • Create account plans to identify growth opportunities and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Monitor account performance, reporting regularly to senior management on progress, risks and opportunities.
  • Keep clients updated on new technologies, products and innovations.
About You
  • Proven experience in account management within engineering, manufacturing, composites or similar technical sectors.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage complex projects.
  • A technical mindset, with the ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • A results-driven approach with the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • An interest in high-performance engineering, lightweight structures or motorsport is advantageous.
