About the Role

Do you have experience as an Account Manager within the Energy Sector? Have you got excellent relationship building skills?

If so, we're looking for an Account Manager to join our team here at EDF!

The Opportunity

As an Account Manager within our Large Business Sales team here at EDF Business Solutions, you will manage a portfolio of complex, high-value electricity supply customers and be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, whilst attaining growth from existing accounts.

You will become an energy expert, able to discuss contractual terms, industry regulation and market developments that could impact your portfolio. The role involves building relationships with our key channel partners and their high-profile customer organisations. In supporting and learning from our team of Senior Account Managers you'll help identify new and innovative solutions to provide better service and create value for us, our channel partners and our customers.

Focussing on our transactional flex portfolio, you will be accountable for all customer-related activity and lead a cohesive approach to sales planning and delivery in line with internal governance frameworks.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a negotiable salary, a performance related bonus, as well as a sales bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We're talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone's welcome. We're on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We'd like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We're a disability confident employer and we'll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we support you to pursue a career that's unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you'll be doing

Act as a key point of contact and develop strong relationships with our key channel partners and customers

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and support the wider team in seeking to maximise business opportunities and value
  • Maintain responsibility for ensuring channel partners and customers receive a consistently high level of service across all operational functions
  • Achieve targets related to the sale of structured electricity supply contracts and value-adding products and services by growing new and existing accounts
  • Assist our customers in accessing our substantial range of Net Zero product offerings
  • Use industry insight and consultative aptitude to offer perspectives that are complementary to a customer's business and industry
  • Develop, maintain and deliver account plans, incorporating customer intelligence gathered
  • Take a leading role within virtual teams to achieve commercial goals
  • Have clear accountability of customer requirements to enable the business to develop innovative, profitable and sustainable solutions to suit customer needs.

Who you are

To be successful you will have strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of building effective connections with both channel partners and customer stakeholders.

The role requires you to understand intricate contract structures and supply products, and clearly articulate the benefits of EDF's offering.

Success in this position will depend on the ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of internal stakeholders, supporting the broader team in achieving its goals.

You will be highly motivated and self-driven, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The role also involves proactively developing solutions to complex deal requirements and challenges. A key part of the job will be researching and building relevant knowledge of customers, economic and industry trends, and identifying potential new business opportunities.

An understanding of the energy industry and energy contracting is beneficial, although a willingness and ability to learn quickly in this area will also be considered.
