Job description

Our client, who are a well known freight forwarder are looking for an Account Manager to join their freight team in Bristol.

As Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing your own profile of customer accounts and you will ensure that they always receive a personable and tailored service delivery to build loyalty, ensure repeat business and enable all jobs to run efficiently and correctly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and manage a personal portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring you deliver a tailored and personable service that builds customer loyalty.
  • Ensure repeat business by enabling all jobs to run efficiently and correctly.
  • Drive GP growth by identifying new customer opportunities across multiple product lanes and securing ongoing shipments.
  • Providing and following up quotes directly with customers.
  • Building close relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Play a pivotal role in ensuring clear profit margins on all accounts and jobs, maximizing these wherever possible.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working in road, air or/and sea freight is essential.
  • Previous account management experience building own client portfolio.
  • Good understanding of UK transport and freight forwarding.
  • The ability to develop and build strong and personable relationships over the phone and in person with a broad range of individuals.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a strong team player.
  • Accountability to yourself and others.
  • Extremely organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Excel.
  • High IT literacy skills.
