Job description

The role

We’re now looking for a motivated Account Handler (Commercial Insurance) to join us here at the Jensten Group. You’ll be based at our Kidderminster office and mainly working on our Renewals book of business, with opportunities to work on New Business as well. We offer a variety of insurances including Motor Fleet, Commercial Combined, Professional Liability, and SME’s.

Reporting to a team leader, the main purpose of the role is to retain and renew clients from the book of business, handle midterm adjustments, and address client queries. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Offering and presenting insurance solutions to secure renewals and new business.
  2. Supporting team performance through regular communication and problem-solving.
  3. Identifying and pursuing cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, utilizing all leads provided.
  4. Achieving or exceeding quote, sales, and income targets from all marketing sources.
  5. Negotiating competitive terms with insurers to meet client needs.
  6. Handling invoicing and credit control for premiums.
  7. Understanding clients’ business operations, risks, and risk management approaches.
  8. Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About you

You should have excellent communication and written skills, with a keen eye for detail. A desire to develop within the insurance industry is essential. You will ideally have:

  • Experience in Commercial Insurance (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • An excellent telephone manner and ability to build relationships.
  • Drive and passion for learning and development.
  • Previous experience working with insurers and clients.
  • Ability to use initiative and multi-task, including updating systems and admin.
  • Knowledge of Acturis systems (preferably).
