Job Description:

Lockton's Construction team is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Account Executive to join our practice.

This pivotal role involves leading client advocacy for significant mid-to-large corporate Construction accounts, ensuring excellent service delivery, and providing strategic direction across multiple teams. You will act as the main contact for key clients, advocating for their needs, and ensuring the delivery of tailored insurance solutions, and will be a key team member in identifying new business opportunities and expanding our service offerings.

You will be responsible for developing client relationships, advocating for their needs, and ensuring the delivery of tailored insurance solutions.

This role will involve managing client relationships, supporting account executives, and providing comprehensive insurance solutions to clients in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in construction insurance and an ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and insurers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a senior client advocate for a portfolio of significant construction clients.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional service aligned to individual client needs, supported by structured service plans and annual review schedules.
  • Provide strategic support on major claims and losses, escalating as appropriate to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with SVPs to expand service offerings and meet evolving client objectives, including complex risk management initiatives.
  • Take ownership of challenging or “at-risk” client relationships, contributing to retention strategies and turnaround planning.

Team & Operational Management:

  • Support and monitor the day-to-day activities of Associates, working closely with SVPs to ensure team efficiency and service excellence.
  • Coach and support Associates to achieve performance goals and personal development objectives through regular one-to-one sessions.
  • Identify training needs, organise relevant development opportunities, and champion Lockton’s buddy and mentoring programmes.
  • Validate and sign off documentation as needed.Oversee premium collection activity and support the team in maintaining effective credit control.
  • Significant experience in Construction insurance, ideally within a broking environment.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with a proven ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and deliver complex insurance solutions.
  • Commercially focused, with a keen eye for identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
