We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Group Payroll Services Manager to join our Payroll Team based in our Retford office.
The Payroll Services Team is passionate, highly organized, and prides itself on providing outstanding transactional payroll support to approximately 3,000 colleagues and managers across PIB Group in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The role requires excellent attention to detail, exceptional customer service, and proven payroll experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of the end-to-end payroll processing for multiple payrolls to ensure the smooth running of the payroll function.
- Contribute to the training and development of the payroll team, guiding them and tailoring training plans to fit the purpose.
- Assist the Group Payroll Services Manager in assessing long-term payroll trends.
- Prepare and complete audits and reporting when due.
- Liaise with high-level stakeholders and management.
- Handle and resolve payroll queries in a timely manner and with care.
- Revise and process auto-enrollment for our company pension scheme.
- Oversee our annual P11D process and submissions to HMRC.
- Analyze, process, and report on Gender Pay Gap.
- Revise the team’s Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure actions reflect current legislation, written processes, and the new HR and Payroll system.
- Meet individual and team targets.
- Assist in compliance with all payroll financial and legal requirements, responsibilities, and obligations.
- Assist with accounting procedures and systems used by the organization.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll statistics.
- Assist with the recruitment of team members, subject to criteria.
- Develop plans for team activities, including payroll strategy to achieve targets and effective planning.
- Set an example for team members in commitment, work ethics, personal character, and financial activities.
- Maintain accurate payroll, financial, and other relevant records.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Experience:
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- At least 5 years of continuous experience working in a payroll function with end-to-end payroll lifecycle.
- Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Tupe/Integration experience.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Global experience is preferred.
- Workday system knowledge is preferred.
