Job title: Account Executive – Private Clients

Location: Buckinghamshire

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Lawes Recruitment is working on behalf of a respected insurance brokerage to appoint a dedicated and professional Account Executive to join their growing Private Client team. The role focuses on managing and developing a portfolio of personal lines clients, delivering tailored insurance solutions across home, motor, travel, and high-value policies. You’ll be responsible for strengthening client relationships, handling renewals, generating new business, and ensuring ongoing service excellence in line with FCA and Consumer Duty standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with personal lines clients, acting as their trusted advisor throughout the policy lifecycle
  • Handle renewals and policy reviews, ensuring timely and accurate updates to meet evolving client needs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and warm leads
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate favourable terms and present suitable product options
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and internal standards, maintaining accurate documentation and clear communication
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams to ensure seamless service delivery and a positive client experience
  • Stay informed on market trends, emerging risks, and product developments to provide clients with the most up-to-date advice

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Engage with clients to manage enquiries, provide guidance, and deliver personalised insurance advice
  • Oversee and process renewals, ensuring coverage remains appropriate and competitive
  • Work proactively to expand your client base and support wider team objectives
  • Communicate with insurers and underwriters to secure favourable outcomes for clients
  • Use insurance systems (e.g., Acturis or similar) to maintain accurate records and handle policy administration

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a personal lines insurance role (e.g. Account Executive or client-facing broker)
  • Working knowledge of products such as home, motor, and travel insurance
  • Familiarity with insurance platforms and client management systems
  • Understanding of FCA compliance and Consumer Duty principles
  • Working towards or willing to study for professional qualifications (e.g. Cert CII)
  • Experience in handling renewals, new business, and general personal lines account servicing

SKILLS

  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation, with the ability to manage a varied portfolio efficiently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple client needs and priorities
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities for new business and following through to conversion
  • Confident using insurance systems and technology to process and update policy records
  • Naturally collaborative, with a willingness to work closely with colleagues to achieve team goals
