The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Account Executive to work within the Retail team across our fantastic live event Top Drawer.

The ideal candidate will have media or exhibition sales experience, with a proven track record in making high volume outbound sales calls with success. They will be assertive and confident, with excellent customer service along with a practiced sales ability, and possess a hunger to reach and exceed set targets. They will adopt a tenacious ‘can do’ approach to creative problem solving, be able to work calmly to a consistently high level of output - especially when busy and under pressure - and have the ability to multi-task whilst managing workload across a host of channels.

The successful candidate will join an ambitious high-performance sales portfolio and become a key player in our continued growth. They will be able to develop new revenue streams, both internally and through discussions with clients, as well as delivering existing products according to set budgets. They should have a great sense of team spirit and highly tuned motivational skills. A thorough understanding of floorplan management and sales promotional skills is also necessary. The role will also work closely with the Marketing and Operations teams. They will have a clear track record of achieving sales and will excel on the phone; face-to-face and when attending competitive events; possess the ability to tailor their approach to each prospect; and truly get alongside the industry from key international brands to smaller independent businesses and confidently closing the deal.

In return they will have the chance to take advantage of the kind of opportunity that rarely presents itself in the event sales world and land a role that will open a world of possibilities within the global events business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully achieve specified sales targets and performance objectives within the sales team.
  • Carry out direct consultative selling (telephone and face-to-face) to existing, lapsed and potential new business clients, build customer relationships, deliver excellent customer service and maximise revenue.
  • Maintain strong sales pipeline through effective relationship building, call management and lead generation.
  • Ensure new business development in challenging markets.
  • Identify and research new growth areas for sales.
  • Manage incoming leads and all sales communications with colleagues to improve acquisition and conversion of sales leads.
  • Working closely with the show team to maximize sales opportunities and promotion.
  • Build relationships and contacts with new accounts to create new revenue opportunities from untapped sectors.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings with the sales team.
  • Continuously developing market and product knowledge.
  • Attending competitive events and industry trade shows for business development.

Reporting and Administration:

  • Accurately manage sales reporting and pipelines through Salesforce.
  • Manage lead generation and data capture through Salesforce.
  • Manage sales contracts and administration to a high standard.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Previous experience in a similar role selling B2B media and exhibitions is essential.
  • A background or knowledge of design, interiors or retail with a proven track record of exceeding targets is desirable.
  • International sales experience is desirable.
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience is desirable.
  • Highly self-motivated, pro-active and able to take responsibility.
  • Strong objection avoidance and objection handling skills.
  • Ability to create trust and build credibility amongst our customers base.
  • Able to deal with a broad range of people at every level.
  • Extremely driven and thrives on a challenge.
  • An astute negotiator.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Social and outgoing individual.
  • A tenacious “Can do” approach to work.
  • A focused self-starter that works on own initiative.
  • A willingness and ability to travel.
