Job description

The role

We are seeking a motivated Account Executive (Commercial) to join the Jensten Group team. The position is based at our Watnall office with hybrid working options. Reporting to the General Manager, the main focus is to grow our General Commercial Insurance portfolio by maximizing opportunities with existing clients, following up on leads and referrals, and generating new business. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Understanding clients' business operations, opportunities, risks, and risk management approaches.
  2. Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management strategies, to secure renewals and new business.
  3. Collaborating with colleagues and managers to enhance team performance, address concerns, and propose solutions.
  4. Negotiating competitive terms with insurers and service providers to meet client needs.
  5. Managing invoicing and credit control for premiums.
  6. Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About you

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and written skills, attention to detail, and a desire for continuous development. You should possess:

  • Strong general commercial insurance knowledge and product expertise.
  • Experience in sales and new business development.
  • A current book of clients or the ability to bring one.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them.
  • Excellent telephone manner and relationship-building skills.
  • Motivation to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
  • Previous experience working with insurers and clients.
  • Ability to use initiative, multitask, and manage systems and administration effectively.
  • Experience with Acturis systems is preferred.
