Job Opportunity: Captive Management Insurance

An outstanding opportunity to work for a leading captive management insurance business. The role involves:

  1. Assisting in the day-to-day management of underwriting and claims reviews, recording, and reporting, working closely with management to deliver exceptional client service.
  2. Monitoring renewal deadlines for clients and proactively initiating renewal processes.
  3. Reviewing (re)insurance documentation to ensure compliance with agreed terms, and verifying control forms and checklists.
  4. Analyzing premiums, claims data, and quota share reports from (re)insurance brokers.
  5. Regularly reporting underwriting and claims information to the team, clients, and Board, including preparing trackers, summaries, and Board packs for meetings.
  6. Collaborating with Finance and Treasury teams to produce monthly accounting information.
  7. Liaising with auditors and third parties to ensure timely audit reviews and year-end accounts.
  8. Ensuring all deadlines related to insurance administration, underwriting, and claims are met within procedures and service levels.
  9. Communicating professionally with external parties such as clients, brokers, lawyers, actuaries, auditors, banks, and insurance companies.
  10. Supporting staff development within the underwriting and claims team, including delegation of tasks.
  11. Following office and client-specific procedures manuals.
  12. Completing ad hoc projects as assigned by management, meeting set deadlines.
Business Development Responsibilities:
  1. Creating impactful presentations using PowerPoint and IT tools.
  2. Coordinating RFP responses and new business opportunities.
  3. Preparing onboarding documentation and supporting Risk and Compliance colleagues.
  4. Ensuring external communications are effective and on brand.
  5. Collaborating with Business Development Lead to enhance LinkedIn presence and visibility.
  6. Maintaining databases for reporting and communication, with follow-up on prospects.
  7. Conducting market research and maintaining the company website.
  8. Organizing BD events and supporting reporting.
Skills and Experience for Success:
  • Confidence in making presentations to peers, clients, and prospects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Commitment to personal development.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Experience in captive insurance or reinsurance industry (desirable).
  • Knowledge of marketing and business development (desirable).
  • Working towards an ACII qualification with general insurance experience; training and studies will be supported.
