Job Description:

Crunch is a leading motorsport consultancy, working with some of the biggest brands in the sport and the world.

We are different and we’re proud of it. People who know us all comment on how we’re... well, different. There’s being different for the sake of it. There’s being different to stand out from the crowd and there’s being different because you’re brave enough to trust yourself and be who you want to be.

We believe that deep within the heart of sponsorship activation lies one key ingredient: brave, confident people. People are the lifeblood of sponsorship. The fans, the readers, the viewers, the players, the drivers, the mums and dads, the media, the clients and the customers.

It was a conversation in London in 2008 from which the company was founded and since that fateful evening we have been on a mission to deliver braver sponsorship activation that gets the blood pumping and delivers tangible results.

Overall Job Description:

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in leading communications and PR programmes, as well as directing client account teams for high-profile brands or organisations within the motorsport or automotive sectors.

A minimum of 8 years’ experience in communications, sponsorship activation and client servicing/account management is preferred. Existing global media contacts across the automotive and motorsport industries would be a strong advantage.

This role will initially focus on serving as Account Director for one of the agency’s largest motorsport accounts, with the communications team reporting directly to them. A core responsibility will be ensuring all communications content produced by the agency meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy, with oversight of editorial processes and implementation of best practices.

Additional responsibilities include project management, financial planning and set-up, time forecasting, budget control and regular reporting to senior leadership.

The candidate will have exceptional communication and quality process management skills, ensuring these are consistently applied across all teams. They will also be expected to lead staff training on these processes where necessary.

Adept at managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously, the ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and maintains strong attention to detail, paired with excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will be confident in creating communication strategies, writing press releases, FAQs, talent briefing documents and press kits, as well as managing media relations.

While the core focus is communications delivery, a solid understanding of commercial strategy and experience in sports sponsorship marketing or integrated marketing is essential.

Given the agency’s global footprint and ongoing activations, a flexible, hands-on approach is required. A proactive, energetic and collaborative mindset is crucial, along with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight from senior management.

Although most communications’ delivery will be handled by onsite account teams, occasional travel may be required to support or manage live events and activations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the communications team to deliver high-quality, on-budget and timely projects
  • Act as Account Director on a flagship motorsport client, serving as a main contact for senior stakeholders
  • Oversee all project documentation and quality control (budgets, SOWs, logistics, plans)
  • Ensure all content is accurate and aligns with brand standards
  • Manage and assess supplier relationships to maintain best-in-class delivery
  • Maintain commercial oversight: budget creation, forecasting, resourcing and profitability
  • Lead campaign strategy and execution from concept through reconciliation
  • Support logistics for onsite activations and serve as Event Director when required
  • Lead internal meetings, support creative development and contribute to new business pitches
  • Share knowledge and support agency best practices

Candidate Requirements:

  • 8+ years' experience in comms activation/PR
  • Strong background in motorsport or automotive communications
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships, agency teams and live activations
  • Skilled in content development: press releases, media kits, Q&As, social/digital content
  • Confident presenting to senior stakeholders and working with high-profile talent
  • Exceptional copywriting, proofing and PowerPoint skills
  • Commercially minded with strong budget and project management experience
  • Calm under pressure, solution-oriented and highly organised
  • Willing to travel globally, including weekends
  • Bonus: second language and a passion for motorsport

What does it take to work at Crunch?

  • You will understand the pressure faced by clients and always have the correct attitude to deal with any situation your team has to handle to meet the deadline and maintain the highest standards
  • Happy to travel globally to events on a regular basis, working some evenings and over multiple weekends – must have a valid and usable passport (it must be renewed if it is about to run out)
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ external and internal business operations
  • Crunch’s programmes work because we can walk in the clients’ shoes. Developing a good understanding of a client’s marketplace and the issues they face is essential
  • Take the initiative
  • As you grow so does Crunch in the eyes of the client; we want you to develop your skills and acquire new ones that will benefit both you and the company – we’ll help you to get there and reward you when you do
  • You should revel in hard work and be conscientious with a positive attitude that will make the all- important client relationship all the more successful

Why Should You Come to Work at Crunch…?

  • If you’re looking for a vibrant place to work, where you can get involved in multiple fast-paced projects with some of the largest and most well-known global clients in motorsport, then you’re in the right place
  • We’re committed to investing in career development and we look to nurture and develop talent to help you grow in your role
  • We have a generous holiday allowance which increases by one day each year you work for us
  • Plus, we have a great benefits scheme and pay an industry-competitive salary
