Sir Richard Sutton Limited owns The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences on Piccadilly in Mayfair, London. The Francis Hotel on Queen’s Square in Bath, The Castle Hotel on High Street in Windsor, and The Queen’s Hotel on The Promenade in Cheltenham.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Based in London, with travel to client premises across the UK and occasional travel beyond, including our hotels in Windsor, Bath, and Cheltenham. The Account Director, Corporate is primarily responsible for achieving the budget in the Major and Minor Corporate Segments, as well as contributing significantly to the Group and Long Stay Segments. This role involves working collaboratively with the Director of Sales, Property General Managers, Marketing, Revenue, Reactive Sales, and Hotel Operational Teams.

The Account Director, Corporate proactively seeks new business opportunities while increasing the share of existing accounts by developing strong relationships and strategic partnerships, with a focus on servicing those clients.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively pursue new business opportunities in the Corporate and related segments.
  • Qualify existing and prospective accounts to understand the room nights and revenue potential for the four hotels.
  • Target appropriate accounts for each hotel as primary and secondary accounts, including Major Corporate Accounts, Local Corporate Accounts, TMCs, TAs, Long Stay Providers, Consortia, and Specialist Agencies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive account management plans, adapting to market changes and hotel circumstances.
  • Host familiarisation trips, on-property show-arounds, and entertain key bookers.
  • Monitor market trends, maintain full competitor knowledge, and observe decision-making criteria from bookers to position the hotels effectively.
  • Ensure all sales procedures are followed, utilise intellectual property effectively, and leverage available resources.
  • Compile monthly reports on sales actions, account performance, opportunities, and insights.
  • Contribute to the success of the Sales Team and the wider Hotel Team.

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Previous experience in hotel sales, preferably within the Corporate segment.
  • Proficiency in Lanyon, Agency 360, and familiarity with GDS and OBTs.
  • Excellent verbal and written English, with a professional telephone manner.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • A passion for customer service, ability to work under pressure, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and confident, welcoming personality.
  • Team-oriented mindset, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Dedication to achieving company goals and thorough knowledge of hotel products and services.
