Account Director, Communications

Introduction:

Forsyth Barnes have partnered with an industry leading sports agency seeking a senior communications professional to lead major global sponsorship activation programmes in motorsport. This Account Director role is strategic and client-facing, requiring a strong blend of leadership, creativity, and motorsport expertise to deliver standout campaigns across PR, content, media, and live events.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead strategy, planning, and execution of global F1 sponsorship activations
• Serve as senior point of contact for clients, providing trusted counsel and direction
• Oversee campaign delivery across PR, media, content, and on-site activations
• Manage high-performing account teams, ensuring quality, consistency, and creativity
• Drive innovation and proactive thinking across all campaign work
• Lead relationships with media, influencers, talent, and production partners
• Ensure all work is aligned with client objectives, timelines, and budgets

Key Requirements:

• Extensive experience in global sponsorship or motorsport communications
• Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, high-profile campaigns
• Outstanding communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Deep understanding of the F1/media landscape and brand activation strategy
• Proven ability to manage senior client relationships and influence stakeholders
• Comfortable leading teams in high-pressure, fast-moving environments
• Willingness to travel globally and work evenings/weekends when required
