The Account Director has overall responsibility for the success of a busy global media account within the travel industry. The right candidate will take ownership of the UK media strategy and oversee strategy in key global markets (US, APAC, France, Germany and Nordics). They will plan, buy, manage, analyse & report back on campaigns and be the main agency contact for our clients.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and dynamic candidate to work with exciting global travel clients. Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues alike, our new Account Director should be comfortable working across integrated campaigns and be able to demonstrate planning & buying experience. We have a dedicated team of specialists across digital performance channels, so the ability to bridge the gap between technical experience and our clients (who are marketing all-rounders) is essential.

A core responsibility of the role will be developing strong relationships with colleagues to ensure client work is delivered effectively, namely from the performance and data and analytics functions. Our clients trust us to help position their brands and to lead analysis and measurement of campaign success. An interest in the analytical side of media and advertising is essential.

As lead global agency, our team owns the global media strategy, but we work with local planning & buying teams on the ground in international markets to execute campaigns. A clear point of view on media strategy and the ability to collaborate are important for success in this position.

A keen interest in the business success of their clients, over and above the media performance data alone, this candidate will develop a solid understanding of what impact our media activity has had on the client’s bottom line. They will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and recommending ways to improve and drive direct revenue.

The role promises a rewarding position in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team, and as a key team member, the successful candidate must be able to lead with gravitas.

Requirements for the Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and buying multi-channel campaigns
  • Develop holistic media strategies, plan and deliver first-class campaigns for our clients, plus monitoring and reporting across all elements
  • Insight into the media landscape and ability to add value with an analytical approach to client briefs and media plans. Having a clear point of view on the role of media channels and being able to defend recommendations with sound rationale is important
  • Secure strong media buys and negotiate media partnerships, obtaining maximum value in all negotiations
  • Excellent client servicing experience, strong communication and presentation skills and confidence in front of an audience
  • A dynamic people person, able to build positive relationships with colleagues and clients alike
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. You'll be process-driven, proactive and able to manage busy workloads effectively
  • Take ownership – you don’t wait to be told, but proactively manage your own and the team’s priorities, and push things forward
  • Effective reporting and optimisation of campaigns, with the ability to draw actionable insights and conclusions from different data sources
