We are looking for a talented Account Director to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of successful communications and event management experience, ideally in Healthcare (Pharma, Biotech, Diagnostics).
The salary is based on industry experience. This role will require travel around the UK.

Your key responsibilities:

  1. Have an excellent understanding of the value of the business’ services, and combine these with knowledge of the latest communication and meetings & events industry changes and best practices, and apply this to create meaningful change for our clients.
  2. Represent the business and our values with clients, partners, and at industry events. Demonstrate thought leadership and strategic expertise.
  3. Work with the Country Head and Head of Accounts, have a deep understanding of the business’ strategic plan, and as an Account Director, how to contribute to support company growth.
  4. Create the account strategic plan with input from the Country Head / Head of Accounts, take responsibility, and support account team members to ensure both account retention and growth against revenue targets. Lead account forecasting.
  5. Build strong relationships, mutual trust, and earn respect with clients.
  6. Gain a deep understanding of clients, their organizations, internal audiences, and communication needs, challenges, and objectives.
  7. Lead requests for proposals and proposal development, provide strategic direction, and lead client presentations.
  8. Build and secure project scope and appropriate project teams, with support from resourcing and production functions, based on client requirements and company expertise.
  9. Utilize knowledge of client needs, challenges, objectives, and the business’ services to provide strategic insight and direction to internal project teams, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
  10. Manage account team members as required, demonstrating leadership, coaching, mentoring, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture aligned with the company’s values. Support their personal and professional growth.
  11. Collaborate with account team members and other Account Directors / Country Heads to resource projects based on forecast, requirements, team experience, and capacity.
  12. Lead project teams with clear briefs, motivation, and focus. Work closely to ensure understanding and proactive delivery, maintaining strong agency/client relationships.
  13. Ensure projects are delivered within budget, acting as the escalation point for queries, managing client expectations, and obtaining approvals for scope changes.
  14. Capture and apply project learnings to future projects.

About you:

  1. Excellent client management experience, confident in building relationships and pitching ideas to senior stakeholders.
  2. Minimum 8+ years of successful communications and event management experience, ideally in Healthcare (Pharma, Biotech, Diagnostics).
  3. 6+ years of business development experience, focusing on strategic communications and event planning.
  4. Excellent understanding of event marketing and audience engagement strategies, ideally using integrated digital communications.
  5. Ability to help clients understand and define objectives from an audience perspective.
  6. Ability to build networks and identify new business opportunities within current and potential clients.
  7. A can-do attitude, with strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  8. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  9. Flexible, versatile, and able to cope well under pressure.
  10. Proven experience meeting deadlines and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  11. Demonstrates innovation and challenges the status quo.
  12. Experience managing a team.
  13. Able to travel around London and the UK for events and client meetings.
