Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Accountant by managing various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and assisting with accounts payable processes.

Duties

Management of purchase ledger including:

* Distributing invoices for authorisation and managing their prompt return

* Entering invoices on Sage via Paperless, with particular attention to detail to the company this relates to and the nominal coding

* Assisting with CIS administration, liaising with supplier to ensure compliance with this legislation

* Monthly BACS proposals

* Making payments on banking systems

* Reconciling supplier statements

* Posting of credit card expenses to system

Weekly processing of subcontractor invoices to include checking of time sheets, calculation of hours worked, ensuring invoices are submitted by contractors, authorisation of invoices and processing of weekly BACs run.

Posting of bank payment & receipts and reconciling of bank statements.

Raising sales invoices for rent, services charges and ad-hoc charges.

Weekly printing of debtors reports, sending statements and debt chasing as required.

Restocking of ATM with cash and completion of reconciliations.

Any other ad hoc office duties as required, including answering telephone and welcoming visitors.

Key Skills Required

* AAT qualified / or significant experience in book-keeping.

* Very methodical with great attention to detail for ensuring postings go to correct company and codes.

* Experience in Sage (preferred, not essential)

* Microsoft Excel (able to use basics)

* Experience of working in a group with multiple companies (intercompany transactions) or complex structures.

* Hands on person who is willing to get stuck in and help with any tasks.
