Job description

A great opportunity has become available to support Boston Borough Council’sHousing team to make a difference.

The Role

You will be assisting the Accommodation Manager to oversee the management of a range of homelessness and resettlement accommodation across the South East Lincolnshire Council’s partnership region, ensuring the accommodation is maintained to an acceptable standard and occupants are effectively managed and supported. The post is initially fixed term for 2 years with the possibility of the post being extended further.

Providing sufficient suitable accommodation will often be a challenge and you will assist the Accommodation Manager to overcome such challenges!

Day to day tasks:

  • To oversee the financial management of temporary and resettlement accommodation including rent accounting, debt collection and setting annual fees and charges. This will include providing suitable accommodation at the lowest cost to the Council and ensuring income maximisation.
  • To ensure the Councils make best use of the available accommodation, achieves value for money and are compliant with Government regulations and guidance
  • To directly line manage a small team who are responsible for the management of temporary accommodation

What do I need?

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of managing a team in a fast paced environment. You will be working with a variety of audiences including members of the public so the ability to remain calm when dealing with people in emotional and stressful situations is key.

This role involves agile working but would also be required as and when necessary to work from the Councils offices as well as travel to appointments within Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland.

This position is a shared role within the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) and forms part of the S113 agreement between the participating partnership Councils in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement 1stOctober 2021.
