Accommodation Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking an Accommodation Procurement Officer to join our Housing Options Accommodation Procurement Team. The successful candidate will procure quality accommodation to support the Council’s duties to homeless and potentially homeless households, including care leavers.

Your responsibilities include working with Housing Officers, Through Care Services, the Children's Placement Team, and other partners to ensure properties are affordable, suitable, compliant with legislation, and inspected professionally and promptly. You should possess strong negotiation skills and be able to advise stakeholders on property standards and costs, as well as follow up on inspection recommendations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will conduct inspections of properties both within and outside Tower Hamlets, including temporary accommodations, commissioned services, and hostel/hotel settings.

Experience in data management and reporting is required to provide accurate and timely reports on procurement and inspections.
