Accommodation Assessment and Lettings Team Leader

London Borough

Full-time | Hybrid working

£34.10 LTD / £26.10 PAYE per hour

3-month initial contract (likely extension)

We’re working on behalf of a London borough currently seeking an experienced Accommodation Assessment and Lettings Team Leader to join their busy housing service.

In this role, you will:

  1. Lead and manage a team responsible for processing housing applications, eligibility assessments, and social housing lettings.
  2. Oversee the delivery of statutory functions and ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation.
  3. Monitor team performance, address service pressures, and implement improvements to meet strategic objectives.
  4. Provide guidance on complex cases involving eligibility, qualification, and priority banding.
  5. Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to ensure efficient and fair housing allocations.

To be successful, you’ll need:

  1. Proven experience managing housing allocations or homelessness teams
  2. In-depth understanding of Part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996
  3. Ability to interpret legislation and translate it into operational practice
  4. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  5. A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a critical team in the delivery of housing services. Hybrid working is available, but some office presence is required.
