Job description

Our Client in South East London is seeking an Accommodation Assessment & Lettings Team Leader

The primary responsibilities include:

  1. Managing a team of frontline officers responsible for arranging emergency and temporary accommodation placements, ensuring timely referrals into supported accommodation, and making optimal use of available housing stock.
  2. Arranging emergency accommodation on behalf of other Council services, including Children's Social Services and Adult Social Care.
  3. Coordinating available properties in the private rented sector, working with Housing Caseworkers and Tenancy Management Officers to identify high-priority households for Direct Lets to prevent and relieve homelessness.
  4. Ensuring high-quality offers, suitability, and timely discharge of duty decisions related to properties, and proactively seeking appropriate housing solutions to fulfill the Council's housing duties.

As a team leader/manager, you will also:

  1. Adapt service delivery to meet changing community and customer needs.
  2. Monitor and review service outcomes to ensure effective achievement of personal and team objectives.
  3. Promote continuous improvement through innovative practices and effective performance management.
  4. Plan and coordinate resources to meet operational demands.
  5. Ensure compliance with statutory and organizational standards and regulations.
  6. Oversee coordination of various accommodation options, including temporary accommodation, Private Sector Leased, Private Managed, Direct Lets, and Supported Housing, maximizing occupancy and minimizing voids.
  7. Recruit, induct, train, supervise, and appraise staff, addressing HR issues promptly.
  8. Lead and motivate the team to deliver high-quality, professional, and customer-focused services, including coaching, mentoring, and managing performance issues.
  9. Foster a customer-first philosophy and promote diversity and inclusion.
  10. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements

Shift Pattern

9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay

£30 per hour
