Job summary

Nacro is seeking an Accommodation Advisor to join our team in Stoke on Trent & Staffordshire. You’ll work with clients in the community, assess housing needs, and tailor action plans to help them sustain or find accommodation while providing budgeting advice and liaising with partner agencies.

The role involves regular travel across an allocated area, so a full valid UK driver’s license and access to your own vehicle with business insurance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the criminal justice sector or related fields is desirable.
• Knowledge of homelessness legislation is helpful but training will be provided.
• Able to travel regularly and work in community settings.

Responsibilities

About the role:

Working in partnership with the Prison and Probation Service, you’ll work with a caseload of clients in the community and provide advice and support relevant to their housing needs. You’ll carry out initial assessments to understand each person’s specific needs to agree a tailored action plan. This may include the provision of support to end or sustain a tenancy, find accommodation or basic budgeting advice and liaison with other agencies. You’ll provide support face to face with individuals and groups.

This role requires regular travel across an allocated area and therefore, a full valid UK driver’s license and access to your own vehicle with business insurance are essential.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in the criminal justice sector and some knowledge of homelessness legislation; however , we will welcome transferable skills and provide you with the relevant training and support required for the job.
