Overview

LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by promoting access, equity, and fairnessin law school admission and supporting the learning journey from prelaw through practice.

Pay rate: $21 to $23/hr, depending on experience

The Accommodated Testing Associate will be responsible for reviewing accommodation requests for testing accommodations on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) submitted by candidates with claimed physical or mental impairments, including but not limited to learning and attention disorders, visual impairments, and physical and neurological disorders.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. The individual employed in this position will be required to:

  • Review requests for testing accommodations on the LSAT received from candidates with claimed physical or mental impairments. Approve requests with supported documentation.
  • Input data into electronic databases regarding testing accommodation requests used to evaluate requests.
  • Fill out corresponding internal forms regarding decisions to approve or deny requests.
  • Post decision letters to candidate accounts to reflect decisions made regarding approval or denial of requests.
  • Create draft correspondence as needed to communicate decisions and respond to candidates' inquiries.
  • Assist in developing and designing documents and written materials to facilitate the testing accommodation request and review process.
  • Work collaboratively within the department and other departments to assist with operational matters.
  • Communicate by e-mail with candidates.

  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as amended.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of common software applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • Sensitivity to handling personal and confidential information and documentation.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree required, B.A. or B.S. degree in social sciences or equivalent preferred
  • 3 years of experience in an office environment with demonstrable knowledge of common software applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have people management responsibilities.

Position Type

This role is a full-time/part-time position with a standard work week of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. ET. The position may require overtime or weekend work.

Work Environment

This job operates in a remote and professional office environment. Whether remote or in-office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
