Job summary

DWP Digital is hiring an Accessibility Specialist to embed accessibility across digital services. You will test with assistive technologies, review audits and advise suppliers to deliver accessible products and services.

You will work with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure procurement, design, delivery and maintenance meet accessibility standards, including WCAG, with guidance and hands-on testing to resolve issues before going live.

Qualifications

• Experience using assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools.
• Strong stakeholder management to influence colleagues, senior leaders and suppliers on accessibility.
• Experience reviewing accessibility audits and providing evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience assessing websites and documents against WCAG and explaining user impact.

Responsibilities

• Ensure digital products are accessible, inclusive and WCAG-compliant.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to embed accessibility throughout procurement, design, delivery and maintenance.
• Provide expert advice on accessibility requirements and how to meet user needs including assistive tech.
• Review accessibility evidence (audit reports, ACRs) and identify risks with practical improvements.
• Support testing activities and resolve issues before go-live.
• Champion accessibility across the organisation through guidance and training.
• Influence accessibility at scale for thousands of colleagues.
