Responsibilities

  • Support and deputise for the Access Control Lead with 24-hour delivery of the Access Control function.
  • Provide SME support for all access control requirements.
  • Gatekeeper of access for site pass holders and visitors.
  • Deploy resources to effectively manage access control across the project estate.
  • Manage on-shift Access Control team including sickness, discipline, HR support, and front-of-house duties.
  • Operate IT systems supporting access control and escalate faults.
  • Deliver training and coaching to officers; provide management information.

Location: Bridgwater
Hours: Average 42 hours per week, based on 12 hour shift pattern rotating, through days, nights, and weekends as required by the Client
Pay rate: £21.08 rising to £22.01 per hour on completion of successful probation (£46,165.24 rising to £48,201.94 per annum, hourly paid)


The Access Control Supervisor (ACS) supports the Access Control Lead with the 24 hour operational delivery of the Access Control function to the Hinkley Point C project.


The ACS will supervise a team of duty Access Control Officers who are tasked with delivering reception, administration and customer service duties to support the project and enable both site pass holders and visitors to gain access to the main HPC site.


This is primarily an administrative, customer facing, reception role with the operation of security and visitor management IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and deputise when required for the Access Control Lead with the 24 hour operational delivery of the Access Control function to the Hinkley Point C project
  • Provide support to the Security Plaza Leads and be the on duty subject matter expert for all access control requirements
  • Key enabler and gate keeper of access to the HPC project for site pass holders and visitors
  • Deployment of resources across the project estate to effectively manage access control
  • On duty operational management of the on shift Access Control team including:
    • Sickness & absence management
    • Discipline
    • HR Support
    • Front of House Reception duties - leader of customer excellence
    • Management of the Visitor process
    • Manage the IT systems which support the function and elevate faults when required
    • Monitor and deliver service level requirements
    • Provide key management information
    • Deliver training and coach Access Control Officers in their duties
    • Provide management information on the access control function

Educational Requirements/Qualifications
  • A good standard of education in Maths, English and IT
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience of operating Security Access Control Systems and managing a scheme of access are essential
  • Prior experience of working within a busy office environment and under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of all MS Office packages
  • Experience of training
  • Previous customer service experience essential

Specific Occupational Requirements
