A leading public service organization seeks a dedicated individual passionate about access to the countryside and natural habitat protection. This full-time position involves project management and stakeholder engagement to enhance visitor experiences in Epping Forest, ensuring sustainable practices and conservation efforts are maintained.

Salary: £44,930- £50,540 per annum inclusive of all allowances

Are you passionate about public access to the countryside? Have excellent project management experience, with proven success of leading a small team in delivering countryside services? Do you have extensive knowledge and experience of managing a protected landscape for visitors to enjoy? Are you passionate about the protection of natural habitats and historic landscapes? We seek a dedicated individual to help us conserve and protect Epping Forest alongside a growing number of visitors.
About Us
Epping Forest stretches from London’s East End for 14 miles out into Essex and covers over 6000 acres along with a further 2000 acres of ‘buffer land’ and receives around 11 million visits each year. Two thirds of the Forest is designated as Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and is home to over 50,000 veteran trees, over 100 ponds and lakes, two registered parks, 4 ancient monuments, and 8 listed buildings.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Land Agency, you will help to implement and deliver strategic access management and visitor mitigation across Epping Forest and its associated Buffer Land. You will promote use of the Epping Forest Estate through implementation of the Strategic Access Management and Mitigation Strategy (SAMMS) project, develop sustainable links to neighbouring green spaces and public transport and promote responsible use of the Forest to ensure protection of its natural aspect.
